HoaLu and TamCoc

We had a blast to day at these places. Hoa Lu is the ancient capital of Vietnam back in the 900's. They were established by the first Kings. The place was not much, but the scenery was spectacular. Here are some pictures from it. Again, Micaela was great, she WOW'd everyone on the river boat. The peaceful surroundings were so idyllic and wonderful from the busy city. The people were all very nice and our guide was very good. The weather started out a little rainy, but it cooled us off and the temp was very nice, in the low 80's and no sun for most of the day. We went through three caves in the boat and saw just fantastic Grottoes. We saw mountain goats, little ones, a beautiful king fisher that was the size of a barn swallow, but green, blue and gorgeous. We watched him dive for food. This was just an added bonus. We did also see some swallows of some kind, could not tell what color they really were, but they had white stripe on their tail.
